Going into Day 2, we knew that our work was cut out as we needed to win both matches to be within a chance of winning the overall competition. The Game Points won would also become critical if our final match on Wednesday morning resulted in a draw.
Our morning match against Warwickshire proved eventful, and ultimately successful as we won 5-0.
Lulu Leetham and Rachel Mackinlay had a nip and tuck match. Lulu sealed the win with a drive that was 50 yards from the 18th green, winning 2 up.
Eloise Feeley and Demi Maxey went out of bounds with Demi’s 1st drive, reloaded and amazingly won the first hole with a birdie from their provisional. They carried on to a convincing win 6&5.
Ella Butteriss dug deep to overpower her opponent, winning 5&4.
Amelia Curtis had a very solid performance throughout, to win 5&4 against probably Warwickshire’s strongest player,
Daisy had great fight back from 2 down to win on the 17th – 2&1.

In the afternoon, we came up against our fellow BB&O county - Oxfordshire.
Eloise Feeley and Demi Maxey continued their unbeaten partnership to win 3&2.
Rookies Sommer Chan and Meg Cullen had an eventful afternoon. After going 3 down after 3 holes we feared the worst. But they rallied, and fought back with some superb golf shots to win 4&3 – the 1st County win for both rookies at their very 1st County Match Week!
Lulu Leetham continued her winning streak, overpowering her opponent to claim her 4th win – 6&5.
Ella Butteriss continued her great run of form with another victory – 5&3.
Unfortunately Amelia Curtis lost on the 18th to a young 14 year old Oxfordshire player – Charlotte Gosling-Evens. Remember the name as surely she is an up and coming superstar of the future.
So we end the 2nd day with 4 wins out of 4 and 8 points, but 1 game point less than Worcestershire and Herefordshire, who we will face tomorrow morning in the final exciting showdown.
